Step 1:
To reset the router, first press and hold the WPS/Reset button for 10 seconds. once you release the button, the router will restore back to default factory settings. Method 1: Upgrade your router firmware
follow the below steps to upgrade the firmware of your Asus router
Step 1 :
simply visit the official Asus router download center and enter the model name of your Asus router

Step 2 :
Next hover over the support tab which is located in the top right corner of the page and click on drivers and manuals

Step 3:
Next, simply download the latest version of the firmware and unzip it.

Step 4:
Next, open the browser and copy and paste 192.168.1.1 this IP address which is the Asus router default IP address
Step 5:
Next click on the Administration which can be found in Advanced Settings -> Click on Firmware Upgrade -> Click Upload.
Step 6:
Choose the firmware file that you have downloaded to upload and click [Open] button to upload the firmware and Please wait for a few minutes until the upload is completed successfully.
Method 2: Update the Wireless network adapter
Another reason why your Asus router keeps disconnecting might be due to your corrupted or old outdated wireless card driver, so you need to update your wireless card driver. follow the steps below to update your wireless card driver.
Step 1:
First, you need to find out the manufacturer of your PC wireless card driver, you can simply Google search your PC model manufacturer like
“Dell+Wireless driver card+brand name of your wireless card driver”
Step 2:
Next, visit the manufacturer’s official page and navigate to the drivers and download section and look for Wireless or WiFi drivers.

Step 3:
download the latest version of your wireless card drivers. If in case you don’t know the brand of your WIFI card then go to windows settings and search for advanced system settings

Click on the Hardware tab and select Device Manager

Double click on the network adapters and you can find the brand name of your wireless network card below in my case it was Killer wireless network card
